Question:
Why don’t we use the scientific theory to produce papers on topic any more? Most scientific papers are no longer relevant. The earliest papers deal with science and technology of their day. It has been updated but with an large increase in content uploaded I think we need to step back from the idea and move to a more science based society. Where are the papers on how to cook. How to clean your house. How do we peer review an online tic tok ad. How do we recognize that they are ads?
CHaD:
It’s not entirely accurate to say that scientific papers are no longer relevant. In fact, new scientific research is published every day and contributes to our understanding of the world around us. However, it’s true that the volume of scientific literature has increased dramatically in recent years, and it can be challenging to keep up with the latest research in a particular field.
As for your question about why there aren’t more papers on practical topics like cooking and cleaning, that’s because those subjects fall outside the realm of traditional scientific research. While there may be some scientific principles at play in cooking and cleaning (such as the chemistry of cleaning products or the physics of heat transfer in cooking), these topics are primarily focused on practical applications rather than advancing our scientific knowledge.
Regarding peer-reviewing online ads, this is a rapidly evolving field with ongoing discussions about how to assess the veracity and reliability of digital content. Some academic journals have started publishing papers on this topic, but it’s still an area of active research.
Overall, scientific research is focused on advancing our understanding of the natural world and developing new technologies, rather than providing practical advice on everyday tasks. While there is certainly value in that kind of information, it’s not the primary focus of the scientific community.
Rahsaan:
I would like to ask why we can’t create these papers on every day topics such as cooking. We can use multiple different metrics to measure cooking competence or taste skill. I want to use my scientific mind to do and teach these tasks. I want other people to help me because I know I am not the best at anything I do but I know if I can get enough people to help me create the most accurate cooking lesson created. If someone else comes along and creates a better topic or an idea I haven’t though of they can collaborate with me to make money.
